The Joy of life
Every day millions of people across North America wake up from their alarm clocks, head straight to the washroom and brush their teeth. If you are not one of these people you need to stop reading here because you are disgusting (ok you don’t have to stop reading but you are still disgusting). We head to the kitchen make some coffee and perhaps something to eat, get changed do our hair and jump into the car to start our commutes to work. We sit in traffic ranging from 35 minutes to 1.5 hours just to make it to our jobs where we spend nearly 35% or more of our adult lives.
Once you are in the office we check our emails, make some phone calls, attend a couple of meetings just to start the day. We end up working longer hours because that is what our jobs expect. Every day some company has some new fancy way of streamlining the process. Its the a nice way of saying adding moreĀ work on your already full plate and paying you the same amount or money for longer hours. For some reason we all seem to sit around in our offices or cubicles and just nod ok. We do this so we can pay for such things as our houses, cars, kids (if you have any) and hopefully save up some money so we can grow old and play golf. We work ourselves to the bone, lose more than a third of what we make to the government in the form of taxes…… WTF?!?!?! WHERE IS THE JOY IN THAT? There is none!
For those of you who are 25 or older or perhaps you just finished your post secondary education. Get ready to punch the clock for the next 40 years.
