Looks like Lamborghini is planning on tapping a new market. Well new to them but they will have some stiff competition. Manufacturers like Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar and Maserati seem to have already had the foresight to dip into the sports sedan market. With such stiff competition like that it will be hard for Lambo to be competitive. Although I have not seen any information released about price. It would be financial suicied for them to release this car with an MSRP of over 160,000 USD. Anything more and auto enthusiasts will quickly lose interest and move on to another competitor with much more knowledge of what the market place really wants.
Lamborghini Estoque video preview:
From first glance this car screams Lamborghini. The hard lines and sleek shape we have all grown to know and love are still very visible in the Estoque. Although this is a concept car it has started to stir major interest world wide. I would not be surprised to see the Estoque in full production by 2012.
I found out about this vehicle by pure fluke. My fiance has been reading some weird vampire books called the twilight series written by a Stephenie Meyer. In the final book (Breaking Dawn) there is a mention of a Mercedes 600 Guardian. Let me just start by saying this car is nothing less than AMAZING. The Guardian is based off the S 600 V12. For the average enthusiast the car appears to be a regular Mercedes. There is nothing regualr about this vehicle.
Watch Mercedes Benz S-Guard video
There has been no specs or pricing released that I have been able to find, but by watching the clip you will notice the car is bullet proof withstands small explosions and even manages to block out poisonous gas. This is an absolute must have for all you CIA, MI5 and MI6 wannabees. Not only can you know roll in style, you also have the ability roll through a war zone while doing it.
Let me start by saying I have never been a fan of Mercedes. Most of their cars have been made for a demography I associate with people in their 50’s (not that there is anything wrong with being 50, I just happen to be younger). 2008 was the first year that MB managed to turn my head in a positive direction. With the introduction of the all new C 350 sport. Ok I am not going to bore you with the regular things that most people talk about like specs, 0-60 times and horse power. Although the C 350 does boast a 268hp V6 with a 0-60 done in 6.1 seconds. This is all besides the point. Lets just enjoy the car for its aesthetic value.
The new design is bold and turns heads of people of all ages. Following the sleek design of its older brother the S 550 its easy to see how genetically these related. Throw in the AMG kit and larger rims and you now have a vehicle that looks awesome right from the dealership.
The only question I have for Mercedes head office is ….Why did you wait so long to release a good looking car? In a market of sports sedans and with competition being steep, MB seems to be giving BMW and other rivals a run for their money. When compared to the previous generation (W203) the new C 350 does everything better.
We all know that this market has been dominated by BMW in terms of looks and performance. If you want to compare the BMW 335 against the MB C 350 and we use performance as the measuring stick then we have to give the trophy to BMW. HOWEVER…if looks are the factor and we compare apples to apples or 4 door to 4 door…then hands down the new C 350 takes this prize with a first place blue ribbon.
I want to congradulate Mercedes for being bolder and more receptive to the youth of society. It is nice to know that they are now making cars that are affordable for people that do not need a walking cane to get around.
