Ok lets face it people…times are tough and all indicators point to a recession right? Gee tell me something I dont know! Well if you are like thousands of americans chances are that your company is facing layoffs or you maybe up on the chopping block yourself. I know it SUCKS!!!! But if you are facing the grim reaper you may as well do the things that you have always wanted to do.

I was talking to a friend of mine a while ago and he mentioned how his company was laying off people like it was going out of style. He had mentioned his concerns but at the same time knew that he would be ok considering the company he works relies on him for his expertise (whatever the hell that is). The reality in this market place is that the more people that get laid off the more responsibility you will have to take on at your job. How cool is that?!?!? You mean to tell me that I get to go to the same 9-5 for the same amount of money, get no raise this year and take on a bigger work load? SIGN ME UP!

The people I feel the worst for are the accountants of the world. Whatever will they do without their calculators and cubicles? The rest of the population that has a tan and a life will still be able to spend their free time basking in the sun or perhaps playing some xbox. Whatever tickles your fancy.

There was a point to this post……ah thats right……if you are facing early retirement take a deep breath and dont panic. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE! Things will get better. The last thing you want to do is walk around with your head down and make your family life worst. I would be interested in hearing some of your stories out there and how you guys are dealing with situation.
