So you bought a Dell laptop

funky-dell-laptop-2Well I admit it I finally caved in and bought a laptop. And Its a Dell. I have now been the proud owner of a Dell studio for about 2 months. Let me start by saying the look and feel of the laptop is nothing short of cool. However my machine came at a price….

First off why does all the customer service have to be done in India? Sure the cost is cheaper and yes they speak perfect English over there but still there are times that dealing with customer service in India can be frustrating. The studio that I own has a HDMI port. This is Ideal for anyone who has an LCD TV to plug into. Lucky me I am one of these people. Now one would think that if you purchase an item that theoretically it should work right out of the box no problem. This has not been the case for me.

From the very first day I started using this laptop the HDMI plus has been causing me issues. For whatever reason everytime I plug in the cord and try to watch a movie I get a large static distortion from the speakers. I have been through over 6 hours of tech time with the Dell techs and still no resolution. Finally they agreed that the laptop needed to be sent back and most likely the mother board needed to be changed. So off to Dell it went and in 3 days time the package arrives back to me. What is that? Oh….is it fixed…..NO! Still getting that same old static distortion. WTF is going on?

Any one else bought a Dell?
